Frost was born right here in our home on September 9, 2021. She was one of nine puppies in the litter, and from the very beginning, our house was filled with the sounds and energy of new life.
We never intended to keep any of the puppies.
Her mother, Gamora, belongs to our son. At the time, our son had moved home with his family and had brought another dog with him, a little Jack Russell Terrier named Bandit. Bandit was quite a character—and he could jump!
The day before we were supposed to take Bandit to the veterinarian to be neutered, something happened between him and Gamora.
And, well… voila.
Frost came into our lives.
At first, the plan was still the plan. The puppies would grow up, find their families, and go to their new homes. But somewhere during those first couple of weeks, something changed for me.
I knew I wasn’t letting Frost go.
There was just something about her. I had fallen in love with her before I even realized it had happened. Frost had found her way into my heart, and there was no going back.
She became part of a very big family. Our home is shared with our daughter, her husband, and their three children. Frost wasn’t just my dog; she belonged to all of us. Everyone loved her, and everyone has memories of her that they will carry with them.
